Diamond Jubilee Celebrations at Apley Grange

7 June 2017

Many SHCJ and friends recently gathered at our care home Apley Grange in Harrogate to rejoice with sisters Oswin Marsh, Mary Lalor, Helen Forshaw and Margaret Mary Somerville on their diamond jubilee (60 years).

Monsignor Pat Hennessey celebrated the Mass. The Apley Grange staff left no stone unturned to make the day a great success. Even the weather was on its best behaviour and the sun shone the whole time.

Our love and very best wishes go to our four jubilarians on the next stage of their journey.

A happy peaceful day enjoyed by all! Mary Talbot enriched the singing with her guitar accompaniment!

I was very happy that my visit to Harrogate coincided with this lovely Diamond Jubilee celebration! It was great that we all fitted very well into the new Dining Room, as Jeanne Sinclair said, without some carrying our plate and chair to another room.! Jeanne gave a good homily, at the Mass, covering something of the life of the 4 Jubilarians. A special day enjoyed by everyone one present, and for me a welcome chance to see so many SHCJ of the European Province! Once again many congratulations to each of the Jubilarians!
