Society of the Holy Child Jesus

Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Adults

“God has chosen to need men and women in every age to reveal his love, to make known the reality of the Incarnation.”

(Const. SHCJ Para.1).

The Society, with its educational base and incarnational spirit, has always had the trust and reverence for every human being at the core of its mission. As members of the congregation, we will cherish each child and vulnerable adult as a gift from God with an inherent right to dignity of life and bodily integrity which will be protected and nurtured.

The Society has signed up to the standards and guidance document of the ‘National Board for Safeguarding Children’ and is committed to making a prompt response to any complaint.

For the procedures to implement the child safeguarding policy, the Society of the Holy Child Jesus follows the guidance of the National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland which are available here https://www.safeguarding.ie/index.php/guidance
