Providence Center Engages with the Community

Providence Center recently participated in the Feria del Barrio, a celebration of Latino culture, family, and community in North Philadelphia. The event was organized by the center’s neighbor, Taller Puertorriqueño, in collaboration with other local organizations. Feria promotes the work of organizations serving Fairhill residents and is a space to share resources, eat delicious Latino food, enjoy live music and dancing, participate in arts and crafts, and so much more. Now in its 39th year, Feria is the largest event in the area sponsored by a coalition of organizations.

Providence Center’s Executive Director Siria Rivera and Teen Leaders Michael and Najee enjoyed a rewarding day staffing the event and engaging with community members. The day provided them with an opportunity to share resources and information related to the center’s programs and introduce the new Resource Navigator service to the community.

We are always excited about new experiences that broaden our exposure to the community and, thus, offer assistance in enabling them to change and grow!
