Dr. Beth Reaves – Head of School, Washington School for Girls (WSG)
Washington School for Girls is a co-sponsored ministry of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus.
A New Home for Sisterhood and Joyful Learning – in January 2026, the WSG realized a long-held dream of opening a unified campus for all grades after 20 years in two locations. The brand-new school facility is three stories, 33,000+ square feet, and includes larger classrooms and new learning spaces, including a Maker Space, Wellness Studio, and Library and Media Center.
It is already clear that this new space has strengthened the community’s bonds. We introduced the Sister2Sister mentor program, which matches our elementary students with a big sister in middle school. Our older students are caring and committed mentors, seeking out their little sisters organically, in addition to the structured activities that they take part in each month.
The middle school floor includes a Student Lounge – a first for WSG! Our students now have space to relax and socialize, collaborate on school work, and connect with students from other middle school grade levels.

Here are just a few things the girls have shared about the new building so far:
“I love my classroom because we have a view of outside, and we can see a beautiful stream.” Thommie, 4th Grade
“I really like how big our classroom is. We have more space and we get to try fun new ways to learn.” Arielle, 5th Grade
“I like that we are all together in one building and this makes me so happy!!!!” Eliana, 4th Grade
“My favorite place is the Religion room because it’s comfy and it smells fresh anytime I go in there.” Jade, 7th Grade
As soon as we moved into our new campus, we launched our Sister2Sister mentor program. This 3rd grader and 6th grader, pictured above, were excited to meet one another for the first time in early January!
