Holy Child College Relives The Passion of Christ

22 April, 2019

But He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him. And by His stripes we are made whole. Isaiah 53:5

The season of Lent is usually a time for sober reflection among Christians. Bearing in mind one of the goals of the Holy Child Philosophy of Education is “The Primacy of the Spiritual,” the students of Holy Child College Ikoyi Lagos, Nigeria in a bid to commemorate the suffering, passion, crucifixion and death of our Lord Jesus Christ captured this great event in a very solemn and moving dramatization of ”The Passion of Christ”.

This passion play was so vivid and emotional that many eyes welled up with tears and the participants both teachers, students, other members of staff and passerby’s beat their chests in grief recalling what the innocent son of God went through for our sake, humbling Himself even to the point of accepting death – a death on the Cross!

The entire Holy Child College Community therefore pray that as we journey with the Lord in His suffering and death, we will also rise with Him gloriously on Easter Morning!
