Providence Center Earns Second Keystone STAR

Siria Ana Rivera – Executive Director, Providence Center

Providence Center is a sponsored ministry of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus.

Providence Center is proud to announce that we have earned our second Keystone STAR, a significant milestone that reflects our continued commitment to high-quality programming for children and families in the Fairhill community.

The Keystone STARS system is Pennsylvania’s quality rating and improvement framework for early learning and school-age programs. Earning a second STAR signifies that Providence Center meets enhanced standards for program quality, including staff qualifications, learning environments, family engagement, and continuous quality improvement practices. This recognition affirms the intentional work our team has done to strengthen curriculum, deepen social-emotional learning supports, and create safe, nurturing spaces where children can thrive.

Achieving this milestone is especially meaningful as our programs continue to respond to post-COVID learning gaps and increased social-emotional needs among students. Our second STAR reflects not only strong policies and procedures, but also our staff’s dedication, our trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach, and our commitment to serving families with care and consistency.

In addition to validating program quality, this designation positions Providence Center for long-term sustainability. Higher Keystone STAR ratings unlock access to additional funding opportunities, including enhanced public and private investments that prioritize quality-rated programs. These resources will allow us to further expand programming, invest in staff development, and continue improving outcomes for the children and families we serve.

As we look ahead, Providence Center is actively working to earn our third Keystone STAR, build on this momentum, and reaffirm our commitment to excellence, accountability, and community-centered care.
