The Holy Child Sisters founded Holy Child Elementary School and Our Lady of Good Counsel Dispensary, Fe y Alegria, in 1995.
Located in Batey Lecheria, the mission site serves impoverished Haitian migrant workers and their families. These men, women, and children lack basic human needs such as running water, indoor plumbing, and electricity. For nearly two decades, the Sisters’ ministry has offered comfort and hope to one of the poorest communities in the Dominican Republic.
Today, 475 students attend a Montessori program at Holy Child Elementary School and more than 10,000 men, women, and children receive medical attention at Our Lady of Good Counsel Dispensary.
