Born: Plateau State, Nigeria

Work Experience: Teaching

Interests: Singing, reading and playing basketball.

I chose the Society because I feel God is calling me to be a Holy Child sister to serve him more and to teach others and help them in any way I can. I also chose SHCJ because of the humility and simplicity of the Sisters.

Jacinta Chioma Ekeh

Jacinta C. EkehBorn: Imo State, Nigeria

Work Experience: Teaching at: CKC Nursery/Primary School Okpofe, Imo State; Michael Tansi Memorial Sec. School Aguleri, Anambra State; Our Lady of Nigeria Sec. School, Oghara, Delta State and Holy Child College, Obalende, Ikoyi, Lagos State.

Interests: Teaching and singing especially with young children.

I chose the Society because of the simple way of life of the Sisters. They strive to imitate Christ in his humility and honest service to humanity. Through their lives, they teach people how to live in God’s freedom and enjoy his presence in our world. They follow the Gospel of Christ in all things.

Perpetua Chinwendu Elule

Born: Imo State, Nigeria

Work Experience: Teaching in nursery and primary sections, I worked as a receptionist in a school and as a supervisor in the nursery section.

Interests: Reading interesting books, listening to good music, cooking and I love to play football.

I chose the Society because of the word “holy,” which attracted me so much that I wanted to join the Society.

Work Experience: Customer service representative, administrative/managerial skills, quality control and production assistant
Interests: Reading, aerobics,
art work, watching movies, listening to music, playing the piano, health care and medicine.
 Nature appeals to me too.

I chose the Society because the Sisters are simple and warm. Their spirit of service is challenging yet encouraging. Their prayerfulness beckons me to develop a personal relationship with God and the mission.

Francisca Chinelo Igwe

Born: Anambra State, Nigeria

Work Experience: Teaching practice – L.E.A. Central Primary School
Karu Abuja from Sept.-Nov. 2011. As a teacher in Providence School Gidan Mangoro Abuja 2013.

Interests: Arts/Crafts, songs of praise, prayers and domestic work.

I chose the Society because the Sisters are simple, loving, caring and humble.

Mary Olajumoke Lawrence

Mary O. Lawrence
Born: Ogun State, Nigeria

Work Experience: Teaching, boarding house mistress and office assistant at
St. Anthony’s Grammar School, Ijebu- Mushin, Ogun State; Immaculate Conception Girls Sec. School, Umutu, Delta State; Our Lady of Nigeria Sec. School, Oghara, Delta State.

Interests: Reading and studying, singing, playing football, computer work (typing) listening to hymns, painting, mowing. I am interested in learning to play the piano.

I chose the Society because of its spirit of simplicity, humility, charity and joy as well as the child-like spirit of the Holy Child Jesus in the Sisters.

Felicia Chinwendu Nnam

Born: Enugu State, Nigeria

Work Experience: Working as a medical officer; volunteer in an N.G.O. and as a resident doctor.

Interests: Cultivating colourful flowers, peeling melon, reading, gardening, listening to and learning inspirational songs.

I chose the Society because of her Mission, Spirit and her appreciation of the uniqueness of God in each human person.

Theresa I. Nwaigwe

Theresa Ifunanya Nwaigwe

Born: Imo State, Nigeria

Work Experience: Teaching at Precious Gift Nursery and Primary School in Lagos for 7 years.

Interests: Teaching, singing and cooking.

I chose the Society because of the simplicity of the Sisters.

Florence Chinyere Owunna

Born: Ikepeze-Mba in Arondizuogu, Nigeria

Work Experience: Receptionist in an estate management establishment, National Youth Service Corps member and banking job.

Interests: Studying, reflecting and sharing the word of God. Reading, watching movies and sports.

I chose the Society because it is flexible in her apostolates, diverse in her ministry, versatile in accordance to the situation of time in our world and dynamic according to the needs of the age. The Holy Child Sisters have a humble and simple spirit. The Society has a deep concern and devotion to God through the scriptures
