Cornelia died at St. Leonards
on 18 April 1879 and was buried at Mayfield.
Later her body was transferred to this tomb
in the fourteenth century chapel. Amadeus Atchison,
the superior general at the time, choose as
her epitaph:
Love knoweth no measure
Feareth no labour
Findeth rest in God alone.
In the mystery of the Incarnation, God becomes
one of us, Cornelia found her inspiration.
It was to this Child in Whom God is both hidden
and manifest that she dedicated her Society.
The mystery of our merciful God embracing all
that is human was the foundation of her charism. Cornelia’s Legacy Continues.
