The annual September Associate Day was held at the Priory School in Edgbaston, which is better known to many as the former Convent of the Holy Child Jesus.
We were delighted to be joined by two members of the current staff, Lydia Hepenstal, sister of Sophie Rudge, and Leanne Flood.
Sophie showed a brief PowerPoint presentation of the recent International gathering in the Dominican Republic, and we outlined a plan for the students of the Priory school to be involved in fund raising and hopefully email contact with their fellow Cornelian students in the Dominican Republic. This will hopefully help raise awareness of the legacy of Cornelia Connelly in the Priory school.
The day then focused on discussing and formulating a plan to develop a strategy and structure for moving forwards as “One Society” of Associates, and building on the links we made at our international gathering in the Dominican Republic.
The summary of our ideas will be shared with the other provinces, and recommendations will then be submitted to the Society Extended Leadership Team. Many thanks are due to Jenny Banks Bryer, who organised our highly enjoyable day, and the Priory school.
