Honorees:

Faith in Action Honoree: Stephanie “Sam” Fleetman

Stephanie “Sam” exemplifies Cornelia Connelly’s spirit of joy, active love, and generosity through her career, community, and philanthropic efforts. An alumna of Holy Child Academy of Sharon Hill, PA, she is the owner and CEO of Mustang Expediting, Inc., a full-service trucking and warehousing company. Her company is 35 years old and is an award-winning certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE).

Sam’s charitable works have extended into many areas. She has served on seven boards concurrently, almost of all of which are non-profit or not-for-profit entities. Sam was the first female president of the Philadelphia Delaware Valley Chapter of the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association and is currently the Chairman of the Board of the State Headquarters — only the second female Chairman in 84 years. She is also currently Chairman of the Board of the Delaware County Historical Society and is a past President of the Sharon Alumnae Association. Sam’s work on these boards has been primarily to help others in some capacity or other. She also actively supports many charitable organizations.

Sam has been married to her husband, Tom, for 38 years and has two sons, Tom and Dan. She resides in Middletown Township with her husband.

Holy Child Spirit Honoree: William Martin

A 2002 graduate of Holy Child School at Rosemont in Rosemont, PA, William is passionate about quality education for disadvantaged youths. After graduating from the University of Montana, William volunteered at a rural elementary school in Uganda, where his interest in education began. In 2012, he took a teaching position at Abaarso School of Science and Technology in Somalia, a school that accepts and educates promising young students regardless of their ability to pay tuition. William had started as a calculus teacher before he was soon promoted to the position of head of the Upper School and later assistant headmaster. In that capacity, he handled the school’s daily operations and managed a free English and mathematics tutoring program for children in a nearby village.

In 2016, William graduated with a master’s degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education. He currently resides and works in Brooklyn, NY, where he works at Brownville Ascend Middle School. This public charter elementary school strives to equip every student with the knowledge, confidence, and character to succeed in college and beyond. William exemplifies the Holy Child tradition of service by using his gifts to promote education access for all.
