Happy Independence Day to Our Ghanaian Sisters!

March 4, 2016

Our Holy Child Sisters in Ghana celebrate the West African country’s Independence Day on March 6.

Rev. Sr. Emmanuella Akweongo, SHCJ writes:

If anyone is in Christ Jesus, he is a new creation the old has passed away behold the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Ghana became a new creation when she gained independence in 1957. For her people to concretely demonstrate God’s love for liberty they have the mission in life to show fidelity to a smaller task that can bring healing, profess peace that can bring harmony and proclaim freedom and justice that will lead to love and joy.

When these virtues are practiced by the people of the new creation we will all benefit from the Church’s jubilee of mercy.

May God bless us all.
