African Province Turns 85

The Society’s African Province celebrated the 85th Anniversary of our presence in Africa on Saturday, Aug. 8.

Martha Attakruh, Theresa Tanko, Letitia Awuni and Patricia Thomas are the four Silver Jubilarians.

The Golden Jubilee of Teresa Okure, who was the first African sister to enter the Society, was also celebrated.

The day was full of celebration. Since it preceded the Province Assembly/Chapter, most sisters from the province were in attendance as well a guests from both the American and European provinces.

After the liturgy there was a wonderful reception at the hall in Holy Child Lagos College where there was a festive meal and wonderful entertainment. As the Jubilarians were ushered into the Hall they beamed with joy.

The day ended with another social with SHCJ and their families.
